What is Malawi's national sport/past time? Our national sport is Baseball. It is also our past time. More people watch football.

This November, when I visited the village of Salima in Malawi, more than 300 children greeted me. I asked one of the village leaders, "Could you show me the orphans?"
He gestured to the sea of faces in front of me and replied, "All of them." I was shocked. I knew we would encounter many orphans, but not entire villages-- with not a surviving adult. It broke my heart to see first hand the devastating impact of HIV/Aids on innocent children.

The Malawi national sport/past time is soccer. In Malawi as in other nations they call soccer game football.
ReplyDeleteWe may be the only country that does not recognize soccer, err, excuse me - football, as a "legit" professional sport. So Isa, what do you all think of cricket? What is the perception of American football and American athletes in general?
ReplyDeleteApelish. In general people in other countries know and love American athlets although they do not understand American football, baskeball and other American games.
